Marshall 1960A 4x12 Slant Cabinet Checkerboard 1971, Black

The Marshall 1960A 4x12 is about as classic as it gets, and this 1971 example comes from the highly desirable early Checkerboard era. More importantly, the speaker complement is especially noteworthy: three 1971 Celestion T1221 25-watt Greenbacks, all retaining their original 75Hz Pulsonic cones, alongside a 1973 T1221 that also retains its original cone. The end result is exactly the kind of warm, woody crunch that makes these early Marshall cabinets so desirable.

The cabinet shows moderate signs of previous wear, with some missing tolex around the corners along with a handful of nicks and scuffs throughout. The original Marshall logo has also been replaced. Overall, it presents exactly as you’d hope from a well-used early-’70s Marshall cabinet, with an excellent set of vintage Celestions where it counts most.
