Melody Makers were introduced by Gibson in 1959 as an even less expensive alternative to the Les Paul Junior student model, and they would be easily confused for one if the different pickguard didn't highlight the single coil pickup, the thinner width version, with black cover. This guitar has a fantastic '59 profile neck that feels like the best of Gibson from the era. Despite a headstock break that was repaired, the guitar is structurally in great condition, with several modifications listed in the Specs. For less than the cost of most modern Gibson USA models, you can buy a 60+ year old Kalamazoo build with a slab of lightweight Honduran mahogany, finished in original nitrocellulose lacquer, and hosting a thick Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard!
Includes a '70s hardshell case.
