This 1924 Gibson H-4 Mandola in Sunburst is a Loar-era carved-top instrument with a focused, rounded voice and a strong low-mid presence. The spruce top and maple back and sides contribute to a clear, controlled response, with the deeper voice of a mandola. Notes carry with a smooth attack and remain well-defined. Additionally, it comes equipped with the Virzi Tone Producer, a Loar-era invention that really helps with projection. The original pickguard has been removed, leaving a more open look across the top. Otherwise, the instrument retains its core construction and hardware. Condition is excellent, with only a few small finish dings and some light felt burn visible where the pickguard was installed. It remains a clean and well-preserved example from this early Gibson period.
Includes black Calton case and original hard shell case.
