In 2008, Aaron Lewis (lead singer of Staind) acquired a 1951 Gibson SJ from the personal collection of Nate Westgar, owner of Willie’s Guitars. That instrument became his most treasured acoustic and inspired this limited reissue. This guitar is number 19 of only 50 made, hand-aged in Gibson’s Montana Art Shop and fitted with a Fishman Matrix pickup for stage-ready performance. Personally selected and set aside by Aaron Lewis for its exceptional tone, this SJ delivers remarkable depth, articulation, and an authentic vintage Gibson voice. Its responsiveness and tonal complexity truly capture the character of the original instruments that inspired it. This guitar was factory-aged and shows additional buckle rash from previous playwear. It includes some of its original documentation (no COA) and comes with the original Gibson hardshell case.
