Description

This 1956 Gibson Southern Jumbo in Sunburst has seen substantial professional work and is now very much a player‑grade vintage guitar. It has been re-topped and refinished, with a replacement bridge, bridge plate, nut, and some binding repair, so it’s not a collector-original example but a solid, rebuilt instrument. The refinish is on the thicker side but overall clean, with some checking and small areas of finish chipping on the sides. The original frets still have plenty of life left, and the guitar plays comfortably with a strong, satisfying voice. For someone wanting the feel and sound of a mid‑’50s SJ without paying a premium for originality, this one is a practical, reliable option with plenty of life left in it. Comes with a HSC.
