An all original 1951 Fender Telecaster.  Let that sink in for a moment.  This guitar is in stunning condition.  Did I mention it's all original?  Yup, it's just about 25 years shy of being a century old and nothing has been touched on it since it left Fullerton.  Let's start at the top and work our way down:  The finish is 100% original.  The tuners are what collector's call, "Closed shell" no-line Klusons.  They're also known as Broadcaster tuners.  The logo is placed in what's called, again... by collectors, "Parallel" position.  Fender only did this in 1951 and they didn't make too many Telecasters that year.  Original nut, original frets with plenty of life left in them.  The pickups are original.  The solder joints on the switch and pots are all the same solder joints that were made at the factory when the guitar was manufactured.  The dates on the pots are covered by solder; which is normal for the time.  The neck is dated "TG 11/7/51."  "TG" are the initials for Fender's iconic neck shaper, Tadeo Gomez.  The body is dated "10/29/51 EM."  EM stands for either Eddie Mendoza or Eddie Miller.  Both men worked for Fender at the time and you can find their initials on quite a few early blackguards.

The guitar plays great and sounds excellent.  The neck shape is so comfortable to play.  It's slightly asymmetrical with less shoulder on the top side which makes it so easy to get around on this guitar.  The pickups sound great and the blend circuit works as it should.

The guitar retains it's original blend circuit wiring.  It has a combination of slotted and Phillips screws which is normal for guitars made at this time.  The original, "Thermometer" case is included along with a modern hardshell case.
