This 1962 Fender Jazz Bass has lived a storied life, spending a good portion of its story touring alongside legendary country star Waylon Jennings in various iterations. It began its life in a sunburst finish, was refinished in brown, then black, and now is back to brown with decades of honest wear. It is clearly not in its original state and the modifications include the original pickups having been spliced into the circuit and a headstock crack by the tuners being professionally repaired. The tone pot, output jack, and pickguard have all been replaced as well. This bass has remained an enduring part of country music history, with its most recent chapter including an appearance on Sturgill Simpson's latest Johnny Blue Skies album.
A photo and video of the bass in action with Waylon are included on this listing. Includes modern Fender molded hard shell case.
