Fender Jazz Bass 1983, Aztec Gold

This 1983 Fender Jazz Bass comes from a short-lived period of transition for the model, built at Fender’s Fullerton plant just before production moved to the company’s new facility. The Aztec Gold finish is paired with binding and gold hardware, giving this Jazz Bass a particularly sharp look. The classic offset body and dual Jazz Bass pickups remain intact, while the early-’80s details give it a character all its own. It’s an interesting late-Fullerton Jazz Bass from a relatively brief chapter in Fender’s history.
