This 1948 Martin D-28 is a well-played and professionally maintained guitar that’s seen plenty of music in its lifetime. With Brazilian rosewood back and sides and an a tight grain spruce top, this one has all the dry, powerful tone you'd expect from a post-war D-28—balanced, open, and full of character.
It’s had its share of work over the years, all done to keep it playing its best. The neck has been reset, and the frets have been replaced with EVO gold wire for longevity and smooth playability. The tuners, nut, bridge, saddle, and bridge pins are all replacements, chosen for functionality and tone. The bridge plate has been plugged and re-drilled. A strap button has been added at the heel.
Crack repairs include a reglued heel crack, a repaired and touched-up headstock crack, and a stabilized crack on the treble side of the pickguard. The end pin hole has been plugged, and the spruce end block strip inside the guitar is missing. All repairs are solid and the guitar is structurally sound.
This D-28 is a great option for a serious player looking for that unmistakable vintage Martin tone in a guitar that’s ready for the stage or studio.
Includes Superior hard shell case.
