When you think about an old warhorse D-18, a mental image of this guitar should come up. This a lifetime guitar that is mostly original in all the right places: bridge plate, finish, and bracing. This example recently under went a neck reset that accounted for the bridge misplacement issues that occur in this era; the intonation is now dialed in for the first time in its life. A recent bridge provides a strong base for its intonated saddle: currently set-up with low action. Before coming here, it received a refret, which has plenty of life left. If you are in the market for a good playing/sounding example for studio work, this is your guitar! Reissues of Pre-war Martins may get close to this, but the dry Adirondack spruce on this one, with all the playwear character, simply can't be matched.
Comes with modern hardshell case.
