Condition NotesGood condition for its age, many finish dings and wear around the edges

This 1931 Gibson F-5 Fern is a post-Loar era carved-top mandolin with a quick, focused response and strong projection. The spruce top and maple back and sides produce a clear, cutting voice with a dry fundamental and crisp note separation. The 30s Fern inlay pattern adds a distinctive visual element as well. It has seen regular use and maintenance over time, including a solid refret. The original pickguard has been removed but is included in the case, and there is a repaired crack along the bass side of the headstock. Condition is good for its age, with numerous finish dings and visible wear, especially around the edges. It remains a solid example in very good vintage condition.

Includes vintage hard shell case.
