This Lloyd Loar–signed F-5, dated February 18, 1924, is a notably clean and original example, retaining its factory Virzi and all the defining appointments of the period. The carved spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, triple-bound body, and headstock display only modest signs of handling, with light wear throughout. It has been professionally refretted and fitted with a replacement Randy Wood bridge so it plays excellently. The original Loar-era bridge hardware, tailpiece cover, and tortoise-pattern pickguard remain intact, contributing to its authentic and highly cohesive presentation. Tonally, it delivers the unrivaled bell-like clarity, articulation, and power that have made Loar-signed F-5s the benchmark by which all mandolins are measured.
Comes with the original hard case, original bridge included in case.
