This 1958 Vibrolux delivers classic tweed tone to match its charmingly rugged appearance. The 5F11 circuit offers a nice midway point in gain—less aggressive than a Tweed Deluxe—and features a deceptively rich tremolo sound, especially in this particular amp.
The power cord, one power resistor, and the electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, with the filter caps rehoused in their original cardboard sleeves. Two coupling capacitors in the tremolo circuit have also been swapped out; otherwise, the preamp circuit remains entirely original. The handle has been replaced as well, which is common for most tweed-era Fenders.
There's also a fun factory quirk, common to this era at Fender - where the tube chart says Vibrolux, but leaves the 5E3 (Deluxe) designation instead of 5F11! This is quite normal to see with amps from this era, and the circuit is most certainly the 5F11, not 5E3.
