Built in January of 1961, this would have been one of the last Tweed Princetons ever built, before switching to the 6G2 Brownface design.
The Tweed Era Fender Princeton can be seen as an expanded version of the Champ, offering a larger cabinet size and adding a tone control to the circuit. This addition addresses the one weakness of the Tweed Champs—their tendency to sound a bit dark—by allowing you to brighten or mellow the sound to your preference. The 5F2-A circuit is the latest version of the Tweed Princeton circuit and is widely considered the most desirable.
Internally, the power cord has been replaced, and new set of electrolytic caps were re-housed in the cardboard from the original Astrons. The 2 original coupling caps have been swapped for modern equivalents as well. Otherwise, all of the original resistors still remain. This amp shows aging on the lacquer, along with some minor wear around the cabinet. The lower backpanel has a slightly different saturation, likely due to storage. The handle was swapped with an older replacement. As a nice bonus it also comes with the original cover, from Victoria Luggage!
While fully functional it should be noted the amp has it's original speaker cone, which could be both fragile and lacking ideal performance.
