The OM "Orchestra Model" was introduced by Martin in 1929 after receiving a request from bandleader Perry Bechtel for a steel string guitar with a longer scale length. This example was produced just one year later, and reinforces that Martin knew what it was doing the first time around.
This herringbone 28 series OM has had a large number of repairs, but the heart (and tone) of the instrument is untouched. Repairs include: Headstock crack repaired with graft, neck reset, replaced fingerboard, back previously removed for repair, tuners replaced and nuts are inset into headstock, bass side crack, replaced pick guard, 3 screw holes drilled for previous bridge, replaced bridge, oversized replace maple bridge plate, oversprayed back and sides, patched top underneath pickguard, replaced frets, finish touchup on top, end pin patch after removal of jack.
Includes a period correct non-original hardshell case.
