This 1921 Martin 00-42 comes from a period when the company's Style 42 instruments represented some of the most ornate guitars leaving Nazareth. With its abalone trim, Brazilian rosewood construction, and small-body 12-fret design, the 00-42 occupied a unique place in the catalog during the early decades of steel-string guitar development. More than a century later, examples from this era remain uncommon, particularly those that have retained their original character while benefiting from careful maintenance.

This guitar has received a number of professional repairs over its lifetime, including a neck reset, refret, bridge reglue, and the repair of several cracks and separations. Additional work includes a replacement saddle, one replacement bridge pin, and localized finish touch-up. A unique scimitar inlay has been added at the 18th fret, while small holes in the headstock suggest the guitar may have once has a wall hanging strap installed. The guitar remains notably clean, showing only a handful of small top dings, light buckle wear, and minor scratching near the heel. It presents as a stable, top-of-the-line vintage instrument with a few unique touches.

Includes vintage hard shell case (no handle).
