This 1926 Martin 00-42 is a stunning pre-war example of the company’s ornate 00-size design, featuring a spruce top with clean Brazilian rosewood back and sides and Style 42 pearl appointments. The 12-fret body places the bridge closer to the center of the lower bout, contributing to a round, balanced response. Over time the guitar has received several necessary repairs, including a neck reset, fret level, shimmed nut, a bridge reglue, and a reglue of the treble-side back upper bout. A small back crack on the bass side middle has been reglued, and a crack in the treble-side slot has also been repaired. The instrument remains exceptionally clean for its age overall. Visible wear includes a small puncture in the top on the bass side lower bout and some notable scrapes along the bass side of the back.
Includes vintage hard shell case (no handle).
