Some of the best guitars survive purely out of excessive love and dedication by their previous owners and luthiers. This 1939 Martin 00-18 has had a number of cracks on its sides, beyond count, that are now stable. The bridge has been replaced and neck reset. Internally, the braces have been reglued, bridge plate replaced, and a cleat near the x-brace. That being said, the guitar has retained much of its original thin checked finish on the top, back, and neck. This guitar was bought by Bill Monroe out of a newspaper classified and was immediately gifted to Julia LaBella as a Christmas present; after which Bill sorted out a restoration process for with Marty Lanham. It was played by Bill and Julia for several years and comes with stage photos and a signed letter of its provenance.
Comes with modern Martin Hardshell Case.
