The 1987 Silver Jubilee was a special edition amp, to commemorate Marshall's 50 years in the music industry. These amps fall in a very special place, not only in collectability but with their design as well. It features the best qualities of both old and new Marshall eras, while also capitalizing on the 80's ascent into territories of higher gain. This amp certainly shows it's age, with moderate signs of wear on the head, and heavy wear on the cabinet. The tears on the back tolex seem stationary for now, and don't appear to be getting worse in an imminent sense.
The amp has a replaced Dagnall power transformer, which is not only very similar to the original Drake, but it's from the same era the amp was built, and would have been OEM for a standard 1987 (circuit & year) 50w model. Aside from that everything else inside is original. While this is optimal for collectibility it would be advised to do maintenance on the amp before any gigging or heavy use (filter caps, etc). In all, this is an excellent player grade piece, that has 100% of that legendary Jubilee sound we know and love.
