Gibson SJ-200 Standard 2023, Wine Red

This 2023 Gibson SJ-200 Standard stands apart from the usual examples with its uncommon Wine Red finish. The rich color gives the large maple-bodied jumbo a completely different presence, bringing out the carved appointments and ornate pickguard in a way that a traditional Natural or Vintage Sunburst finish does not. The spruce top and maple back and sides deliver the broad, powerful response expected from an SJ-200, while the familiar mustache bridge and decorative inlays complete the look. It shows mild player wear, including a few dings and scrapes on the top, but remains a particularly striking example of Gibson’s flagship jumbo.
