At the more accessible level of Gibson's Les Paul lineup, the Junior was designed to be a simpler version of the classic silhouette. The single P90 in the bridge position is straight rock and roll; it's no wonder why Charlie Starr favors these models. Other simplicities include: unbound fingerboard, lightweight slab mahogany body, and a wraptail bridge. Known for their contributions in music history, these "Junior" guitars lived beyond their name initially suggested. This example was developed in the Gibson Custom Shop, in Nashville, and given a heavy relic finish by the Murphy Lab. The guitar looks, feels, and sounds like it has been on a long musical journey.
