The 1958 Gibson Les Paul Special remains one of the more direct and functional solidbody designs to come out of Kalamazoo in the late ‘50s, and this TV Yellow example carries the honest wear and feel that make these guitars so appealing decades later. The mahogany body and dual P-90 configuration deliver the dry, articulate response associated with the model, with plenty of midrange presence and clarity under the pick. This guitar has seen a refret, the nut has been shimmed, and the tailpiece and studs have been replaced, with the original parts retained in the case. It shows the kind of maintenance expected from an instrument that has continued to be used over the years rather than stored away. Includes a modern hardshell case.
