What started its life as a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Jr. has been heavily modified into a player grade Les Paul Special. A neck pickup has been added along with the necessary routing, and the control layout has been expanded with a switch cavity route. The electronics have been updated with replacement pots and capacitors, and the bridge, pickguard, knobs, and nut have all been changed.
The fingerboard has been refretted and re-radiused, and the tuners are later replacements. These updates suggest an instrument that has been reworked over time to suit a player’s preferences rather than preserved in original condition. The result is a late-’50s Les Paul Jr. platform that retains its core character while offering a broader range of tones and functionality than stock examples.
Includes modern Epiphone hard shell case.
