In 2004, the Gibson Custom Jimmy Page Custom Authentic Les Paul Standard debuted following thorough research conducted by the Gibson Custom Shop team, a journey to meet Jimmy Page in England, and access to the guitar affectionately known as "Number One." Originally acquired by Page from Joe Walsh (of the James Gang and later the Eagles) in April 1969, "Number One" swiftly became his favored instrument, extensively utilized both in the studio and on stage with Led Zeppelin. Notably, the guitar underwent a neck alteration prior to Page's ownership, which he appreciated. The sanding of the neck resulted in the removal of its serial number. However, it's widely believed to be a late 1959 or early 1960 model Les Paul. Page still possesses "Number One," referring to it as his "wife" and "mistress," considering it irreplaceable. During Page's ownership, the Kluson tuners were swapped for Grover Rotomatics, and at some point, the bridge pickup was replaced after malfunctioning during a tour.
This example from 2005 retains all of its original components and shows light signs of wear including some light scratches and dings throughout. Overall, this guitar is in excellent condition and plays great!
