This 1946 Gibson J-45 features the model’s classic slope-shouldered dreadnought construction, with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides finished in sunburst. The guitar was factory refinished in the early 1950s, and the faint footprints of previous logos remain visible beneath the current finish. It has undergone a neck reset, refret, and bridge reglue, along with regluing of the bass side X-brace, back brace, and back strip to ensure structural integrity. Additional updates include replacement tuners, bridge pins, and end pin. It sound great, with a worn-in woody tone. Cosmetically, the instrument remains in good condition overall, with visible water checking in the finish.
Includes vintage Geib chipboard case.
