This 2025 Gibson 1939 SJ-100 is an exceptional Murphy Lab recreation of one of Gibson's rarest pre-war flat-tops. Finished in a beautifully faded vintage sunburst, it faithfully captures the look, feel, and tone of the original mahogany-bodied SJ-100, a model produced only from 1939 to 1942.
Built with a thermally aged red spruce top, mahogany back and sides, a two-piece maple neck, and an ebony fingerboard, it delivers a warm, open, and remarkably responsive voice. Gibson has meticulously recreated every notable detail, from the firestripe pickguard and rare "stair-step" headstock to the script Gibson logo and even the period-correct strap pin on the back of the headstock.
Each instrument is individually aged by the skilled craftspeople of the Murphy Lab in Bozeman, Montana, making every guitar a unique tribute to one of Gibson's most distinctive and collectible vintage models.
