The J-35 is Gibson's simple and utilitarian workhorse to the magic Adirondack/ Honduran Mahogany Dreadnaught formula. This natural finished Jumbo model was the predecessor to the J-50, rumor has it that the best tops were spared a sunburst fate. The 1940 versions were special as they have a more scalloped bridge contour and has 2 tone bars instead of the earlier 3. The J35 here before us is a survivor, and in clean condition at that. The bridge plate was replaced, likely around the same time that the neck was reset, refretted, and the original bridge was reglued. There is minor lacquer touchup throughout, but on the whole shows off its finish checking and wear with pride. The best part: it sounds massive.
Comes with hardshell case.
