This 1921 Gibson F-4 is a fine example from a golden age of Gibson craftsmanship. With its carved spruce top, beautifully figured maple back and sides and rich burst finish, it showcases the elegance and attention to detail that defined the Loar-era aesthetic—even though this one predates his signature on the F-5. The oval soundhole gives it a warm, open voice with rich sustain and a sweet midrange, making it especially well-suited for classical, Celtic, or old-time styles. 1921 was the first year Gibson transitioned into adjustable truss rods, and while this example had a its rod installed over the flower pot inlay, we believe it is factory original with some additional carve out.
Includes vintage hard shell case.
