The early 1960s marked an important chapter for the ES-335, and this 1962 example captures many of the features that have made these guitars so enduringly sought after. Its laminated maple semi-hollow construction and factory-original Patent Number pickups represent a combination that helped expand Gibson's electric lineup beyond traditional solid body and hollowbody designs. Both pickups retain their original stickers and untouched factory solder.
This guitar has benefited from a professionally repaired headstock crack, along with a refret and a new nut, ensuring it remains ready for continued use. Presenting in very good plus condition, it shows light signs of age with a notable spot of case bite on the top. More than sixty years after leaving Kalamazoo, this ES-335 remains an appealing example from one of the model's most desirable eras.
Includes 70s Gibson hard shell case.
