Fender Stratocaster 1961, Blonde

Here we present an exceptionally rare 1961 Fender Stratocaster in Blonde! As many may know, the standard body wood for the Fender Stratocaster was alder, and the finish was sunburst. Ash has more visible grain and was relegated to Telecaster, which got Blonde finish as a standard. So this Strat, being blonde, with an ash body, is a custom selection; and very tasteful at that!  At some point in this guitar's journey, the finish was mostly stripped from the body, likely in the late 60s/70s to show off the grain. That being said, it was expertly refinished in nitro and has nice looking checking and wear. Vintage ash bodies are very rare, because they would have been custom ordered, so refinish or not, this is a rare opportunity to get one. It's also an excellent player thanks to a well done refret and set-up.
