Introduced in 1951 as the first production model electric bass guitar, the Fender Precision Bass revolutionized the music world. Designed as the bass counterpart to the Telecaster, the Precision Bass, or P Bass, underwent significant evolution throughout the 1950s, including changes to its electronics, body shape, and aesthetic details. A major design update came in 1954, with the addition of body contours for enhanced comfort.
This particular P Bass is a wonderful player-grade example, blending vintage charm with a few modern updates, including a full poly refin, replaced electronics, and a new pickguard. It has the original pickup that was re-wound at some point in the past. Despite these modifications, the bass offers superb playability and effortlessly delivers the classic P Bass tone. Comes with a non-original hardshell case.
