Collings is known for its high-quality 14-fret dreads, but this 2001 D2H Baaa A is a cut above the rest. Easily a one-and-only for a bluegrass picker, its hand-voiced Adirondack spruce top is complemented by gorgeous, master-grade Brazilian rosewood back and sides. The combination gives this guitar a tonality that is unparalleled. Its low end is robust and powerful, yet it never loses the clarity and balance that Collings dreads are known for. Collings achieves this by hand-selecting and hand voicing all of their tonewoods, which are evaluated and selected based on density, then graduated to their own unique thickness to maximize each guitar's tonal potential. The modified vintage neck profile is substantial but not chunky, and easy and effortless to play across the entire fretboard. Comes with its original hard case.
