Modifications/RepairsRe-topped with Sitka (heavy relicing and finish work), original pick-guard re-applied, overspray throughout, previous neck set, re-fret, replaced tuners, replaced bridge, new bracing/bridge plate, crack repairs, small binding repair.
Condition NotesWell worn, mostly in the finish. But nothing significant in terms of structural damage. Has a nice broken in feel overall.
This '44 Martin D-28 has new life thanks to a recent retopping (aged down to look period correct). The neck has a comfortably worn-in feel without being over the top for its age. Sonically, it offers cohesive volume from low to high with plenty of clarity and presence. It plays very nicely on the original V-shaped neck profile, which isn’t too large in the hand. While it shows plenty of honest wear, it’s structurally strong and ready for many more years of playing. It comes in an SKB hardshell case.
