This 1958 Martin D-18 is a classic mahogany dreadnought with a strong, dry fundamental and a clear, direct response. The Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides deliver a focused low end with a crisp, woody midrange that suits the model well. It has seen a thoughtful round of maintenance over time, including a neck reset, refret, replacement nut and saddle, a bridge reglue, and three professionally reglued cracks on the bass side lower waist, back bass side upper bout, and back treble side upper bout. These repairs keep the guitar structurally sound and ready for continued use while preserving its overall character. Cosmetically, it shows checking throughout along with several dings, all in line with its age. A nicely broken-in example with the kind of response you’d expect from a well-played late ‘50s D-18.
Includes non original hard shell case.
