Description

One of Gibson’s most legendary acoustic models, the J-185 was first introduced in 1951 as a slightly scaled-down counterpart to the iconic SJ-200. Sharing similar appointments, it paired a Sitka spruce top with maple back and sides to deliver power, clarity, and balance. This Custom Historic 1952 J-185 elevates that legacy with a thermally aged Sitka spruce top and stunningly figured flame maple back and sides. Recently set up in-house, it plays effortlessly. Tonally, it captures the character of a well-aged vintage instrument—warm, open, dry, and projecting with authority. The guitar is in excellent condition and includes the original hard case.
