The Vox AC10 Twin is a fantastic-sounding low-wattage amp and a rare sight on this side of the Atlantic. The “Twin” designation comes from its pair of Elac 10" speakers, which gives the modest 10-watt output a surprisingly large and authoritative sound. This example has held up incredibly well over the years, showing minor signs of previous wear, with one small tear in the front grillcloth. It also features an unusual preamp tube complement, with an EF86 handling the Vibrato channel and a 6U8A on the Normal channel. Players should note that 6U8A tubes are often somewhat microphonic by nature, which may become noticeable at higher volumes.

Internally, the amp is seemingly all original. On the power supply side, a pair of diodes is used in place of a rectifier tube. The work appears to be factory done, either during production or shortly thereafter at the request of the original owner - see photos for further detail. If desired, the amp can be switched back to an EZ81 rectifier with a simple modification. With the original Elac speakers and Parmeko transformers still in tact, this makes for a highly collectible and exceptional-sounding vintage Vox!

Despite being fully functional the buyer should note this amp has long expired filter capacitors and delicate original speaker cones. While many amps are run this way for years without issue, anyone planning on prolonged or regular gigging use would be advised to have it serviced.
