"Never intended to be a copy of Mr. Rice’s iconic 1935 Martin D-28, the TR Model is voiced to showcase his stellar lead work with influences from Clarence White to John Coltrane."

Richard Hoover's collaboration with Tony Rice goes back to 1978, but it wasn't until 1989—the year this guitar was made—that it was formalized into an official model. Featuring a Sitka spruce top with Brazilian rosewood back and sides (something that later would only be available on the TR Pro models), this is a powerful dreadnought ready to serve the musical needs of any serious picker.

Modifications and repairs include a neck reset, a bridge reglue, replaced tuners, a new bone nut and saddle. It has two repaired back cracks, three repaired side cracks, two plugged strap button holes, and an added strap button. There's also a bit of Sharpie residue on side of fingerboard. Reach out for further in-hand description.
