Some guitars just tell a story when you pick them up. This D-18 has seen a long list of repairs and modifications over the years that results in a veteran instrument. Cosmetically it is apparent that this guitar has seen a thing or two, however, it wears its age nicely. Upon first inspection, a replaced rosette is noticeable with the added abalone shimmer. Further repairs include the following: a replaced bridge plate, replaced bridge, repaired heel crack, neck reset, repaired cracks at tongue extension, there is a washer footprint from previous tuners, some cleated top cracks, repaired side crack, finish touchup throughout the body, the neck and top are oversprayed. Overall, the guitar is in stable condition and plays very well. It has a dry clean sound that does not lack aged character you might expect in a 1947 D-18.
