Description

This Martin D-28 began life as a 1968 example before returning to the Martin Repair Shop in 2022 for a full conversion to 1937 Authentic specifications. The work includes a Style 40 vertical C.F. Martin headstock inlay, a Martin conversion label documenting the transformation, and a professionally repaired lower bout crack completed during the process. Relic'd Waverly tuners and Bob Colosi "dishwater" bone bridge pins complement the vintage-inspired build without feeling out of place. It captures the look and response of Martin's pre-war instruments while retaining the story of its original 1968 construction, making for a distinctive factory-executed conversion that is rarely encountered.
