This is an exceptional example of a 19th century Martin. Gut-string guitars are knows as some of the earliest guitars that with some extra bracing, have become our beloved steel strings. Not only is this particular guitar well kept, it has had minimal repairs to keep it in its original and playable condition. This lightly built guitar is responsive and elegant in its tone and playability. Ideal nylon tone for a parlor sized guitar and incredible Brazilian Rosewood and Spruce construction check all the boxes for an 1800's Martin. This is a lovely and inviting guitar from 1880 that shares a wonderful piece of guitar history with its owner. Repairs and modifications include a neck reset, bridge reglue, shimmed nut, replaced bridge plate, cleated top crack, added fingerboard extension brace and an ebony chip-out on bridge at A & D string pin holes.
