The 000 models are arguably the most versatile and comfortable guitars Martin has made. The 000-18 series, with its mahogany back and sides, stands out for its audibly pleasing sound across the spectrum; mahogany is known for its dry, woody warmth. Each year, Martin used slightly different batches of aged spruce, so there are no hard cutoffs. However, the 1946/47 models consistently feature darker Sitka Spruce, which tend to be tighter grained than some years. This guitar can do it all; and appears to have done so for its previous owner. This particular example has undergone essential repairs to give it a new lease on life: a neck reset, refret, re-glued and sanded bridge, replaced saddle, patch on lower rim with color touchup spray, full overspray, cleated side and back cracks and replacement tuners. This guitar plays beautifully with low action, delivering a dry, warm, and rich tone.Travelite case included.
