Behind the story of every country music star was their first good guitar, and for legend Little Jimmie Dickens, it was this incredible 1936 Martin 0-18. Photo and letter documentation show this small bodied Martin accompanied Jimmy from early in his youth. It was purchased in 1946 by the Schelp family from Jimmie when he lived in Topeka, KS; and it stayed in that family for nearly 75 years. Little Jimmie Dickens had an active music career as a child, and was the oldest living member of the Grand Old Opry at the time of his death at 94 in 2015. The photos that accompany this guitar show what a pride and joy this Martin was to Jimmie. It is a wonderful sounding guitar that is surprisingly loud for its size.
Comes in original soft case with Little Jimmy Dickens WTBC Stencil, photos and a letter from the Schelp family (Jimmie's name is spelled Jimmy on the case), and a modern hard case for shipping (2 packages).
