Marshall Super Bass 1992 Head & 1960B 4x12 Cabinet 1970, Red

This excellent Marshall Super Bass was built just after the transition to metal front panels, in March of 1970. Fortunately, this means it retained all the Plexi components inside, including the same brown-colored turret board. Despite a few blemishes, this amp has held up very well for its age, with no significant rips or tears. The red color is rare and certainly a head-turner, especially when paired with this 1972 4x12 bottom cabinet! Internally, it has seen some small changes. Fortunately, the replaced power transformer is an OEM Dagnall from later in the '70s. The voltages match up perfectlu, keeping the vintage sound well intact. Here's a list of the changes inside, and please refer to the pictures for further details:

• Front logo replaced
• Stock number 1992 still present, but missing the rear center plaque
• Filter caps replaced
• Impedance selector replaced
• One coupling cap in the preamp swapped for a modern WIMA .0022µF
• Bright cap added to the volume pot on the Bright Channel
• Slope resistor in the tone stack replaced, along with a 1k resistor on the cathode follower
• Tone stack cap changed to a Sozo 250pF silver mica
• Phase inverter coupling caps replaced with Sozo .1µF

Despite these small changes, the amp still delivers that signature Super Bass sound we all know and love. While not a perfect year match, the cabinet is from 1972 and features the holy grail setup: 4x G12H 30w Greenbacks with 55Hz Pulsonic cones. Together, these make for a truly epic combination!
