This amp is in excellent condition, with only minor signs of previous wear. There is no salesmanship involved in admitting that this is a very special example of a Plexi 50w, with every morsel of tone you'd hope it to have. This is a unique piece, that is equally at home with collectors and players alike!

This British classic resounds from the greatest era in rock history - the late 1960's. In Marshall terms this was the "plexi" era, referring to the plexiglass front & back panels, that later transitioned to metal in the 70's. The JMP circuit design is elegant and simple, with a slightly more aggressive "lead" sound than the JTM45 amp that preceded it. This amp comes to us with the preamp in stock condition - the filter caps have been changed, meaning this amp has received it's 100k mile maintenance, and is ready to be played, gigged, or recorded. While no parts have been changed, due to the absence of a stock bias trimmer a resistor was added to help fine tune the EL34 bias. In addition to that 1k/5w screen resistors were added, which is pretty much mandatory in high voltage amps, for proper sound and operation, as any amp tech will tell you. Please see pictures for further details.

The part codes on this amp all date to 1968, with the latest pot code being from December '68, indicating this is likely a very early 1969. It has the 1968 white logo, along with the short head box. It has the original bulgin port for a British power cord, along with the voltage selector for international use. If you have any curiosity about this piece - please come to hear it! This shouldn't last long.
*When using Affirm, we charge an additional 3.5% fee on the total at checkout. The majority of our instruments are consignment, where CVG keeps a small percentage of each sale.
