The Marshall JCM800 is widely regarded as the foundation upon which most modern high-gain amps were built. The design continued to evolve throughout the 1980s, leading to models like the 2205, which added a second channel and built-in reverb. Despite these changes, it thankfully retains the signature midrange crunch that the JCM series is known for.
Internally, the amp still retains its original filter caps. A couple of resistors in the phase inverter section have been replaced, likely due to servicing to maintain functionality.
