This is a rare Plexi-era Marshall 8x10, model 1990 cabinet. It would have most commonly been paired with a Super Bass head, though it sounds equally impressive with guitar. The cabinet is loaded with 7442 Celestion speakers—the same type found in the 2x10 “Baby Bluesbreaker”—and they sound fantastic. While these speakers are often listed at 10 watts each, many believe they comfortably handle closer to 15 watts, putting the cabinet around a 120-watt rating overall. It’s a refreshing change from the typical 100-watt Marshall 4x12, offering a wider spread and a different character to the sound.
All of the speakers retain their original Pulsonic cones—please see photos for details. As you’d expect from a cabinet of this size, it has seen a fair amount of gigging use, with a few small tolex tears mostly isolated to the left side. There’s also a “JHE” stencil on the cabinet—feel free to let your imagination run with that one. These don’t surface often, so don’t miss the opportunity. Local pickup only.
