Gibson True Historic 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue 2015, Dark Burst

The True Historic series marked Gibson's effort to refine every aspect of its Historic Collection, incorporating revised plastics, hardware, finish work, and construction details developed through close study of original late-'50s Les Pauls. This 2015 example wears a Dark Burst finish over a figured maple top, with hide glue construction and a pair of Custombucker pickups that deliver the open, articulate response expected from the model. The combination of a lightweight mahogany body and authentic '59 neck carve gives the guitar a lively acoustic character before it's ever plugged in. As one of the earliest True Historic instruments, it represents a notable step in the evolution of Gibson's Custom Shop reissue program while remaining unmistakably rooted in the character of a 1959 Les Paul.
