A beautiful example of Gibson's top of the line archtop! The model was introduced in '35 and was the largest body that Gibson offered. This particular example has most notably had its neck reprofiled/shaped to 1 9/16" width and the neck and sides refinished to match. It's also been re-fretted, has a non-original bridge, previously had a floating pickup, and is missing some binding on the headstock as well as it's truss rod cover, pickguard, and endpin. At one time it had Schaller tuners but now has vintage-era correct Kluson tuners. It has normal wear for a guitar this age with checking, scratches, and dings. It plays great and is hard to put down! Originally owned and played by guitarist Jack Charmella, staff musician on WLAC Radio, and most recently by musician and music director Steve Gibson.
Includes the original Hard Case.
