Description

This 1954 Gibson SJ is a heavily modified example with woody Gibson tone. The guitar has had a headstock repair, shaved neck, refret, replacement bridge, replacement pickguard, and Plate Mate installed, along with a full refinish. Numerous small cracks are present throughout the sides, with several larger cracks on the back having been repaired. The guitar shows significant repair history and modification, but retains the familiar slope-shoulder Gibson design and the character of a heavily played vintage instrument.
