Description

This 1965 Gibson SG Special is a road-worn rocker with the kind of character only decades of honest use can deliver. Finished in its original cherry nitro lacquer, this lightweight SG features the classic mid-’60s appointments, including a lightning-fast neck profile and skinny nut width—perfect for players who like their guitars quick and slim.

Outfitted with a pair of original P-90 pickups, this one sings with all the snarling bite and midrange punch you’d expect from a great vintage Special. The electronics are untouched and function as they should, delivering a full spectrum of tones from gritty garage crunch to warm, articulate cleans.

A few tasteful player-friendly modifications keep this one stage-ready: the tuners have been replaced for improved stability, and the back plate screws are later replacements. There’s a hairline finish crack near the neck joint—purely cosmetic, stable, and common for these models. It doesn’t affect playability or structural integrity.
